Getting to know Shannon Derby
Shannon Lee Derby, PhD, LMHC, CAC – I am a Florida-based Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Addiction Counselor with over 30 years of experience. Holding a PhD in Clinical Pastoral Counseling, and a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling, I specialize in addiction treatment, relapse prevention and clinical supervision. Additionally, I am an active member of the American Counseling Association and other professional organizations.
I previously spent 20 years with the State of Connecticut, Department of Correction, serving as a Counselor and Supervisor in the Addiction Treatment Unit. Currently, I focus on improving patient care through clinical supervision and serving as Adjunct Faculty at Grand Canyon University (since 2020), teaching practicum and internship courses.
I am pleased to continue my journey with Birches Health, focusing on providing specialized gambling addiction treatment. My goal is to support clients through life transitions, fostering an environment where you feel seen, empowered, and equipped to achieve a fulfilling life.
