Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Shannon! Welcome! My name is Shannon Saltzman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of clinical social work experience and over 20 years in the field of social work. I hold both a Bachelor's degree and a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. I specialize in treating adults and older adults. My approach I provide individual therapy to clients residing in the state of California. Treatment combines evidence-based talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapies, and a solution-focused approach. As a therapist, I offer a warm, supportive, empathetic, non-judgmental, and safe space for healing and recovery. I help clients move through whatever challenges they may be facing and develop coping tools they can continue to use beyond our time together. My focus I work with adults and older adults ages 18-99 years old. I am experienced in treating depression, anxiety, situational stress, stage-of-life transitions, poor social support, family system difficulties, end-of-life counseling, bereavement, and loss. My communication style I provide a warm, supportive, empathetic, non-judgmental, safe space for healing and recovery. I help clients move through whatever they may be struggling with and assist them in developing coping tools that last beyond therapy. My journey to mental healthcare As far back as I can remember, I have always been interested in helping others. I truly enjoy learning about people’s experiences and journeys through life and helping them use those stories as sources of inner strength. I feel most successful when clients are empowered to use coping skills and strategies to make meaningful changes in their lives. My goals for you I begin with a comprehensive assessment to start the therapeutic process. A treatment plan is then customized to each client’s needs and therapy goals. Typically, treatment consists of 6-12 sessions, with additional sessions as needed.
