CA
Hi there, I'm Shano! My name is Dr. Shano Rodgers, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Simi Valley, CA. I earned my PsyD from Walden University. I see clients statewide through telehealth and specialize in treating anxiety, grief, depression, and trauma using Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, and Positive Psychology modalities to help my clients achieve their goals. My approach I work with clients according to their self-identified strengths, needs, and goals. I use a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative and Solution-Focused therapies, Psychodynamic Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Motivational Interviewing. I am a certified trainer in the Nurtured Heart Approach (for parenting intense children and youth) and am also a certified life coach. My focus My style and approach tend to be a good fit for parents who have challenges with their children, adults experiencing anxiety, depression, or childhood trauma, as well as relational challenges, professionals who feel stuck, and older adults nearing or in retirement. It's very important that my clients feel safe to express vulnerability in a non-judgmental environment that inspires trust. I work with clients according to their self-identified strengths, needs, and goals so they can feel better and move forward. My communication style My style encompasses empathetic listening and questions that facilitate client self-discovery. My goal is to create a comfortable atmosphere where we can build trust and make progress toward client goals. My journey to therapy From an early age, I felt the drive to help others. As a natural-born listener, I often found myself comforting those in distress. I engaged in volunteer work and social work. What continues to drive me is seeing positive changes in clients and the courage they exhibit in wanting their lives to be better.
