Psychotherapist
CA
In my practice, I focus on walking with clients through some of the most difficult events in their lives. Whether you've considered an experience “traumatic” or not, if it still haunts you or causes you uncomfortable physical responses like a racing heart or nausea, these can be successfully treated. Utilizing modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can unlock sensations of safety, clarity, and freedom in life. I know how scary and overwhelming the self-healing process can seem. I want to encourage you to be compassionate and patient with yourself. Any and all progress is valuable, so please take these next steps with me. My approach We are all unique and are drawn to varying types of treatment. While I do love EMDR, I will never push a particular modality on my clients. I will always work within your comfort level, while also compassionately challenging you toward growth and healing. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we’ll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to compassionately challenge those thoughts to change your feelings for the better. My focus Since trauma doesn't discriminate, my clients are from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. The only prerequisite for beginning the healing work is that individuals are ready and willing to dive into their past experiences in order to transform triggers and pain into changed perspectives and freedom. It requires courage, vulnerability, and determination. I am always humbled and impressed by my clients when they take on this new chapter in their stories. My communication style I have always been a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), and I lean into empathy and compassion naturally in sessions.
