Sherry Yam, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I am a trauma consultant who graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master’s in Social Work, bringing years of culturally diverse EMDR therapy experience since 2011. My expertise lies in tailoring research-supported EMDR therapy for highly successful expat and AAPI professionals (e.g., journalists, actors, scientists, corporate leaders, producers, first responders) who experience medical-related trauma, fear of flying, stage fright, phobias, unprocessed grief, car accidents, wildfires, war trauma, or cultural issues. I received my trauma training at the National Center for PTSD and the EMDR Trauma Recovery Humanitarian Assistance Program. In our society, we often overlook the necessity of trauma work for our highly successful leaders. Many of my clients come to me specifically seeking EMDR therapy to resolve barriers so they can become better leaders and find a healthier work-life balance. Others come to me for EMDR therapy after trying talk therapy for years without seeing the progress they hoped for.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
