Getting to know Sonia Estrada
Hi, my name is Sonia Estrada. I am a licensed bilingual (Spanish/English) marriage and family therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate University, along with both professional training and life experiences. I have experience working with a variety of age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My goal is to help you achieve a level of functionality in important domains—relational, social, vocational, and occupational—to improve your quality of life. I work with clients facing issues such as trauma and abuse, attachment difficulties, domestic violence, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, relationship challenges, family conflicts, stress, and parent-child conflict. I use a range of approaches and treatment modalities, including but not limited to trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), solution-focused therapy, and strength-based approaches.
