Getting to know Stefania Sarti

I am a Psychotherapist (LMFT) with over 15 years of experience helping adults, families, and children navigate a wide range of mental health challenges. Originally from Italy, I relocated to the United States in 1990, starting my journey in New York City before settling in San Francisco. My professional training began in Italy with an emphasis on the psychodynamic object-relations model, leading to a doctoral degree in Psychology of the Arts from Bologna University. Since 2001, I have been based in California, where I earned a Master’s in Counseling from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto. In addition to my private practice, my diverse experience includes supporting the reunification of mothers in recovery with their prenatally drug-exposed children in a residential program in San Francisco, working as an outpatient Psychiatric Social Worker for adults in Monterey County, counseling dual-diagnosed teenage mothers in Oakland, and providing therapy at Bay Side Marin, a residential treatment center in the Bay Area. For the past five years, I have worked as a Licensed Crisis Specialist for Marin County. My therapeutic approach is integrative, dynamic, and holistic, with a strong focus on mindfulness, creative expression, and energy therapy.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
