Getting to know Stephanie Giammichele
My name is Stephanie Giammichele, and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College. For my clients' therapeutic needs, I strive to create a safe and nurturing space in which they can explore and embrace their authentic selves. My client-centered, psychodynamic, humanistic approach to therapy helps individuals along their journey toward embracing the unique strengths and characteristics that make up who they are and want to be.
My approach
I believe everyone has a unique set of values that deserve to be explored and expressed. It is my life's work to assist clients in gaining insight into their inner drives and managing the stressors and obstacles that are part of the human experience. Depending on the client's needs, I utilize a humanistic, client-centered, psychodynamic, trauma-informed lens to support individuals in reaching their therapeutic goals and gaining insight into their inner drives and needs. As part of the journey toward embracing their true selves, through the use of mindfulness skills and distress tolerance techniques, we work together to build a coping toolbox curated specifically for each client and their unique needs.
My focus
I've had experience working with teenagers and adults who suffer from anxiety, grief, trauma, attachment issues, substance abuse, depression, adjustment struggles, self-esteem challenges, and individuals coping with severe and persistent illness. My approach has been most effective with individuals who are ready to dig deep into the root of their emotions and confront their inner conflicts for the purpose of moving toward emotional resolve and inner peace.
My communication style
My goal is to help clients feel heard and secure by providing unconditional positive regard and an accepting, safe, and non-judgmental environment. Clients walk away from sessions feeling relieved, encouraged, and mindful of their needs.
