Stephanie Henderson, MA

Psychotherapist
NC
Welcome, my name is Stephanie. I am currently licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I hold a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master in Theology in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, North Carolina. In addition to this, I am a trained facilitator of the Life Innovations Prepare and Enrichment Marital Counseling Program, where I train counselors and lay leaders to provide couples counseling. My approach My counseling approach is to enter into a professional therapeutic relationship with you, the client, in which I, the professional counselor, assist you in exploring and resolving challenging life issues. I believe that the professional therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is the key variable in facilitating positive change. The counseling techniques utilized will vary and will be based on the information gathered in the clinical assessment. My focus I work with individuals 18 and up. I work with those who have experienced trauma in their childhood or current life. I work with couples who are challenged with communication and conflict resolution, as well as any other issues affecting the satisfaction of the marital relationship. I treat PTSD, depression, anxiety, spiritual issues, and relationship concerns. My communication style I am skilled at creating a safe, holding environment that is conducive to therapy. Clients will leave therapy with increased insight into their presenting concerns. Through psycho-education, I assist clients in developing a frame of reference for understanding the underlying causes of their issues. Clients will feel empowered to address these concerns in a safe place and will develop healthy ways to manage stress, anxiety, and depression related to their presenting issues.
