Stephen Robinson, LCMHC

Psychotherapist
NC
Hi there, I'm Stephen! Welcome to my practice. My name is Stephen Robinson, and I am licensed to treat both mental health and clinical addiction. I hold a Master's in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I approach therapy from the perspective that you, the client, are the expert in your life, and I am charged with seeing your world through your eyes to the best of my ability. Together, we can discover your world through new eyes and live the life you deserve. Whether you suffer from depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, or persistent mental health disorders, we can work together to reduce your struggle with coping skills and mindful awareness. My approach My approach is eclectic and tailored to my clients' needs. I employ modalities proven effective, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, person-centered, Rogerian, emotion-focused, cognitive restructuring, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and EMDR. My focus I embrace working with challenging and fulfilling clients who might have given up hope for the life they deserve. Gaining trust, fostering self-compassion, and healing the corrosive effects of trauma are often most gratifying. My communication style I aim to provide a tone conducive to safety and freedom to become vulnerable in an environment of comfort, affirmation, unconditional respect, and positive regard. My journey to mental healthcare I wanted to give back in honor of those who never had the opportunities I had. I realized late in life that meaning and perspective bring growth and eliminate suffering through acceptance and commitment to our values. I have done what I set out to do if I can assist others in discovering meaning and growth through trauma. My goals for you I build treatment plans based on your values and most salient needs, through Socratic dialogue.
