Getting to know Susan Berzon

As a psychodynamic therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families addressing a range of issues and goals. Certified in EMDR, I specialize in trauma assessment with a focus on shame within the human condition. Through a holistic practice, I utilize evidence-based treatments such as Attachment style therapy, CBT, Narrative, Solution Focused, and Strengths-based approaches. My clinical experience spans settings including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, substance rehabilitation, and schools. I earned my PsyD from Alliant International University, which has enriched my understanding and approach to therapy. I believe my role as a therapist is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can heal from emotional pain stemming from trauma, interpersonal conflicts, and existential crises. Beyond collaborating with clients, I serve as an Adjunct Professor in graduate programs, training future therapists and clinicians. I hold that personal growth begins with self-awareness and insight, leading to empowerment and the life clients ultimately want to live. It is an honor when clients invite me to join them on their journey.
