Susan Wooldridge, LPC

Psychotherapist
CO
I work hard to create a safe, supportive environment for clients to share what is on their hearts and minds. Most of us get stuck at one time or another in life, and at times we need someone to assist us in setting ourselves free. Oftentimes, our pain has much to teach us if we are open to its lessons. A good therapist provides a non-judgmental ear and an open mind to assist us in taking those difficult steps towards wholeness and growth. Being an older clinician enables me to pull from a large resource of experience to assist folks on their journey of self-discovery. My approach My approach is sensitive and honest. I team with my clients to help clarify goals and then work with them toward achieving them. I often talk about the importance of self-regulation and paying attention to your nervous system within the session to help build awareness and begin to learn more about involuntary reactions in difficult situations. Self-knowledge is empowering, and I enjoy watching clients realize their potential to effect change in their lives. I promote lifestyle changes like meditation, exercise, reading, and community involvement. My focus The clients I work best with are those who are motivated for change and are seeking to become the best version of themselves. My belief is that we all have areas in which we need to develop and grow more, and many who come to therapy become aware of that when they are in pain. I have worked with a large variety of clients in differing circumstances in life, like disordered eating, depression, addiction, anxiety, and relationship problems. My communication style My communication style is direct, honest and compassionate. I grew up on the east coast and my clients tell me they recognize my accent at times when I talk, along with my no-nonsense style.
