Getting to know Sydney Burkhard

Hi there, I'm Sydney! I am an Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am trained in CBT, DBT, MI, EMDR, and ERP. My focus I specializes in folks struggling with OCD, depression, anxiety, women's issues, peripartum mental health, parenting, relationships, attachment, self growth and self awareness, and addiction recovery. My approach My focus is to help folks heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. This is achieved by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing therapy goals. I work with folks who want to "reinvent" themselves due to significant life transitions such as job loss, break-up/divorce, codependency and more. My communication style I prioritize clear, open communication and create a supportive, nonjudgmental space. My approach is warm, relational, and authentic. I’m direct yet compassionate, helping you explore patterns while gently challenging you in ways that support growth and lasting change. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to this work through a deep passion for supporting others in navigating life’s challenges. My journey led me to specialize in women’s and maternal mental health, where I help clients feel seen, supported, and empowered through these life transitions, healing, and growth. My goals for you I collaborate with clients to set meaningful, realistic goals based on their values and needs. Together, we break goals into manageable steps, track progress, and adjust as needed. I provide support, accountability, and gentle challenge to help clients create lasting, sustainable change. Our first session Our first session is a relaxed, collaborative space to get to know you. We’ll review your history, current concerns, and what brings you to therapy, while beginning to identify goals. You can expect a warm, nonjudgmental approach where you feel heard, supported, and at ease.
