“Taelyr is a godsend and talking to her every week keeps me sane. Prior to Taelyr my “therapist” was very clinical and I didn’t feel listened to or heard, it was like I was talking to a robot. Taelyr is so human and she makes me feel understood.”

Getting to know Taelyr Patton

Hi there, I'm Taelyr! My name is Taelyr (pronounced Taylor) Patton, and I am an LCSW with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I tailor my approach for each client, most commonly using mindfulness, CBT, and DBT. I focus on couples, youth, and families navigating various seasons of their lives. My approach I use mindfulness, CBT, and DBT, but recognize not every client fits those methods. Depending on needs, I also incorporate models based in grief, recovery, acceptance, trauma, and emotional intelligence. My focus I have helped couples save marriages, work through family grief, and heal from betrayal trauma. I enjoy supporting individuals as they reconnect with themselves, rebuild self-esteem, and clarify identity. I also assist families and individuals dealing with grief and addiction. My communication style I create an atmosphere of safety and transparency. I want clients to feel safe sharing the good, bad, and ugly. Sessions are a time to get real and fully explore their life journey and where it has brought them. Then, clients decide the direction they want to head and how they envision themselves. My journey to therapy As a teen, I worked with foster youth who shared stories of abandonment, loneliness, and trauma. I didn’t fully know how to support them beyond listening and comforting. I never wanted to feel that helpless again, so I became a therapist. Watching people heal and being part of their journey has been my greatest joy. My goals for you Clients establish 3 to 6 goals where we identify coping techniques and seek insight into thoughts, feelings, and behaviors related to those goals. We take weekly steps toward achieving them together.
