Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Tamara! I'm Tamara Ridge, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University. As a survivor of childhood trauma, I've been committed to removing the mystery from the self-healing process-both for myself and for my clients-since I first graduated as a therapist in 1997. My approach I developed a proprietary 6-Step System based on principles found in Cognitive Behavioral, Embodiment, Mindfulness, and Emotion-Focused Therapies. It turns out there's a way to heal trauma triggers-both ?Big T triggers? and ?Little T triggers.? Both types of triggers can interfere with your relationships, your sense of happiness, and your ability to overcome those pesky habits you don't tell anyone about. My focus I specialize in helping individuals and couples overcome the impact of trauma in their present lives. My communication style I strive to maintain a client-centered, warm, empowering approach to therapy. If you were hurt as a child, you know the last thing you need is a therapist telling you what to do. I focus on helping you see choices and feel in control during our therapist-client relationship. My journey to mental healthcare I aspired to become a therapist after discovering through my own therapy at 18 that it was possible to be happy despite childhood trauma. I knew I wanted to help others feel happiness instead of hopelessness. Five years later, I began my journey to becoming a therapist. Since seeing my first clients 27 years ago, I've come to understand that I must be awake and active in my own healing system to guide you in yours. I have deepened the healing process for myself, discovered the keys to effectively leaving trauma in the past, and I'd love to help you on your journey toward self-discovery, healing, and more fulfilling relationships.
