Getting to know Vicki Underwood

We all struggle at times, and our struggles are our own-do not compare what may feel catastrophic to you with what others are dealing with. I have been practicing for ten years, centering my work around person-centered therapy, emphasizing non-judgment, genuineness, and positive regard. I will accept you for who you are, and we will start where you are. My goal is to help you reach your goals. I find that humor, compassion, and authenticity allow my clients to feel comfortable and progress simultaneously. Since 2010, I have provided intensive therapy at institutional, residential, and outpatient levels of care for adults and adolescents. I have worked with various populations and issues, including forensics, sexual addictions, sexual abuse, domestic violence, trauma, developmental disabilities, transgender, gay and lesbian individuals, adolescents, crisis, self-harming behaviors, couples, and families. I am trained in EMDR therapy as well. Everyone can learn the skills to improve their state of mind. I can help you find these tools, whether through mindfulness, emotional regulation, acceptance, or awareness. I earned my Master's in Social Work from California State University, Bakersfield, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support diverse clients effectively and compassionately.
