Getting to know Yoana “Joana” Rivas

I have worked with a variety of clients-geriatrics and adults-in different settings. Right out of school, after earning my Master's in Social Work from California State University, Northridge, I worked in a community non-profit with older adults, then at DaVita dialysis center, and most recently at UCLA hospital. This wide range of settings has allowed me to work with patients from many different paths, backgrounds, and situations. I love connecting with and providing support to my patients during challenging times or transitions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I love connecting and providing a safe space for my clients- whether it’s a transition, grief, a major life change, I am here for you. I will be your listener and supporter and always be honest with you.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
