Zoe Spears-Takakuwa, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I'm Zoe Spears, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy Counseling from Mount Saint Mary's University. I work with individuals and couples who want to create and foster healthy, fulfilling relationships. Together, we'll explore why you often feel stuck in repetitive relationship patterns and how these patterns impact other areas of your life. I use an attachment-based lens to guide treatment, helping you understand how past attachment experiences may be influencing your present relationships. For couples, I incorporate Gottman couples therapy to build a strong foundational relationship. Additionally, I may integrate other evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy when appropriate, because I believe therapy should be tailored to each individual's unique needs. As a newer licensed therapist, I bring a fresh perspective on the complexities of dating and relationships in today's world, including the effects of social media, online dating, and living in a virtual environment on connecting with others. My approach is holistic, and I spend the first four sessions getting to know you and your relationship history. I also assess for other factors that may be affecting your relationships, such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, health-related issues, trauma, and other stressors.
