Beachside Rehab
Beachside Rehab is a Joint Commission Gold Seal-accredited inpatient mental health and addiction treatment center located on a private five-acre campus at 1101 54th Street in West Palm Beach, Florida. We are a licensed dual-diagnosis facility providing residential treatment for adults with depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), bipolar disorder, grief and bereavement, codependency, substance use disorders, alcohol use disorder, opioid dependence, and co-occurring conditions. Beachside Rehab is family owned and operated, LegitScript certified, and has maintained continuous accreditation since opening in 2013.
Our facility was purpose-built from the ground up for clinical care. Unlike many treatment centers in South Florida that operate out of converted residential homes or repurposed hotels, every clinical space, residential suite, medical unit, and outdoor therapeutic area at Beachside was designed specifically for the treatment of mental health and addiction disorders. The campus includes a private swimming pool, fitness center with Peloton bikes, outdoor fitness trail, interactive fitness mirror, pickleball court, meditation labyrinth, disc golf, and an organic recovery garden. Professional housekeeping is provided seven days a week. Chef-prepared meals are served three times daily with a 24-hour snack bar, and a Licensed Registered Dietitian is available twice monthly for private nutritional consultation.
Beachside Rehab maintains a maximum of 34 inpatient beds. This capacity limit is intentional. With a 5:1 patient-to-staff ratio and therapy caseloads of just 6 to 10 clients per therapist, our clinical team has the time and clinical bandwidth to build genuinely individualized treatment plans. Every client receives a minimum of three individual therapy sessions per week, including sessions with a licensed clinical therapist and our psychiatric team. All residential clients receive private rooms.
Our psychiatric team is led by a board-certified psychiatrist serving as Medical Director and supported by psychiatric nurse practitioners providing psychiatric evaluation and medication management seven days a week. The medical team also includes Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP), Registered Nurses (RN), and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) providing 24/7 care at our private on-site medical facility. For clients requiring medically supervised detoxification, Beachside provides comfortable on-site medical detox with continuous nursing oversight and psychiatric support throughout the withdrawal process.
Our clinical staff includes Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), and Master-Level Certified Addiction Professionals (MCAP, CAP, CAC) certified through the Florida Certification Board. Several members of our clinical team hold advanced certifications in trauma treatment, including EMDR certification, NARM Master Therapist designation (the highest clinical level in the NeuroAffective Relational Model), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) credentials. One of our senior clinicians brings over 20 years of specialized EMDR experience with advanced training under Laurel Parnell.
Beachside Rehab's treatment philosophy is rooted in evidence-based practice delivered within a trauma-informed framework. We treat the neurological, relational, and behavioral dimensions of mental illness and addiction — not just the presenting symptoms. Our core treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for restructuring negative thought patterns driving depression, anxiety, and addictive behavior; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness in mood disorders and self-harm; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for processing traumatic memories without requiring clients to verbally recount traumatic events; the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), a somatic-based framework developed specifically for treating developmental and complex trauma, addressing attachment disruption, chronic shame, and emotional dysregulation at the nervous system level; Internal Family Systems (IFS) for understanding and integrating conflicting internal experiences; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for building psychological flexibility; and Motivational Interviewing for resolving ambivalence toward treatment and supporting sustained behavioral change.
The distinction between EMDR and NARM is clinically significant and reflects the depth of our trauma programming. EMDR is highly effective for single-incident PTSD — a car accident, an assault, a combat experience — where a specific traumatic memory can be targeted and reprocessed. NARM addresses a different clinical population: individuals whose trauma is rooted in prolonged, repeated experiences such as childhood neglect, domestic violence, or chronic emotional invalidation. These clients often present with complex PTSD (CPTSD), characterized not just by flashbacks and hypervigilance but by pervasive difficulties with identity, attachment, emotional regulation, and self-worth. Having both modalities available under one roof, delivered by certified clinicians, allows us to match the right intervention to the right clinical presentation rather than applying a single approach to every trauma client.
Our daily clinical program includes at least five hours of group therapy covering mental health and addiction psychoeducation, relapse prevention, mindfulness meditation, and conflict resolution. We offer specialized breakout groups for grief and loss, abuse, suicide and self-harm, and trauma processing. These are not generic support groups — they are clinician-led, structured therapeutic interventions integrated into each client's individualized treatment plan.
Holistic therapies complement the clinical program and are designed to restore the connection between mind and body. These include equine therapy, yoga, acupuncture, massage therapy, sound therapy, biosound therapy, art therapy, daily guided meditation, group fitness, and beach-based therapeutic activities. Our therapy dog visits the facility twice weekly. These modalities are not add-ons or recreational diversions — they are integrated into treatment planning and serve specific clinical functions, from nervous system regulation (yoga, biosound, meditation) to experiential processing (equine therapy, art therapy) to physical restoration (fitness programming, nutritional support).
Beachside Rehab treats co-occurring conditions as the clinical norm, not the exception. The majority of our clients present with more than one diagnosis. Depression accompanied by substance use. Trauma underlying anxiety and codependency. Grief compounding bipolar instability. As a licensed dual-diagnosis facility, we are equipped to treat these interconnected conditions within a single integrated program — meaning one treatment team, one facility, one coordinated plan — rather than referring clients between separate providers for mental health and addiction care. This integrated model eliminates the fragmentation that undermines recovery when clients receive conflicting treatment approaches from disconnected providers.
Family involvement is a core component of our treatment model. Residential clients have access to virtual weekly family support sessions, and family counseling is included in the minimum of three individual sessions per week. We recognize that mental illness and addiction exist within relational systems, and that sustainable recovery requires addressing the family dynamics that may have contributed to or been affected by the client's condition.
Long-term treatment programming is available for clients who need an extended stay beyond the standard 30-day residential program. Treatment duration is determined collaboratively between the client, their therapist, and our clinical team based on clinical progress, diagnostic complexity, and discharge readiness — not by arbitrary time limits.
Every client leaves Beachside Rehab with an individualized aftercare plan. Aftercare options include ongoing group therapy at Beachside, connection to community support groups and 12-step programs, behavioral and coping skills for daily functioning, virtual family support continuation, and scheduled check-ins with Beachside clinical staff. Our goal is not just stabilization during residential treatment but equipping every client with the tools, self-awareness, and relational skills to sustain recovery long after discharge.
Beachside Rehab accepts most major private insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, and United Healthcare. Our admissions team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for confidential consultations. We also offer flexible private payment options for clients without insurance or with limited coverage.
