"Dr. Anyichie and her staff are lovely, the office isn't- and that's pretty much all you need to know.
Dr. Anyichie was recommended by a friend who said as much (as do all of the other reviews). Dr. Anyichie and her staff were nice, friendly, and personable. She took her time to explain everything and even though I received a slightly scary diagnosis, I felt very comfortable that the doctor will walk me through the next steps over the coming months. Her front desk receptionist/nurse was friendly and personable- which is not always the case at offices. I didn't like that I had to go to other facilities for blood work and an ultrasound- at my GP's office you just go to another room for blood work and I would've thought that an Ob/Gyn does ultrasounds all the time (like on TV!) but I could be wrong.
The office clearly also is or was a pediatrician office and everything is dim and dated and covered with kids' stickers- there's a certain aspect to this which seems unprofessional when one is used to gleaming whites and all new furniture at some offices- clearly this is coming from the point of view of someone who's been pretty privileged on the health care side of things. (It's a bit like if you're used to stainless steel and granite kitchens, and find yourself surrounded by old appliances and linoleum.) On the other hand, many other offices have 6 week waits (I know from calling!) to see a midwife or Ob/Gyn specialist if you're not pregnant and are in neighborhoods where you can't easily drive up and find a free street parking space.
All in all Dr. Anyichie seems to be a great doctor and should get a flag for being gay-friendly (this is important!) and I hope that her office gets a makeover to be one that she and her staff deserves. It was also nice to patron a doctor who's a woman of color and an immigrant."
