"This was my fifth visit with Dr. Rahhal and I am continually impressed by his approach and grateful for results I am beginning to see . After seeing him for a few months, my blood pressure is the best it has been since my teens. I am now in my early/mid thirties and this is the first time I can remember it being in the normal healthy range! My cholesterol has greatly improved as well. The best part is that these results are being achieved through less medication. He seems to treat problems specific to my medical history, lifestyle, family history, etc, as opposed to prescribing the same thing to every patient with the same medical issues. He has made changes in my medication, in addition to suggesting changes in diet and lifestyle that can be equally as important. I like that he explains the reasons why to make the changes, as well as how to make them and the benefits I will get from each. After going over my past medical history with me, and sharing what I learned with my wife who is a physician as well, it's shocking the importance of having a good, knowledgeable primary care doctor can be. The most urgent and concerning thing Dr. Rahall wanted to address was my extremely high triglyceride level which was at 1200mg (healthy range is under 150mg), and explained to me the serious potential risk I was at. It is now at 600 and going down, but likely still my main health risk. Going through my medical history, past blood work had shown they were repeatedly high the last ten years and at one time over 3000mg which had been the highest he had ever seen before. I just recently had to get a hip replacement, which is almost unheard of at my age. Orthopedics couldn't even explain what the root cause was. I also had pancreatitis at a young age with little explanation as to why. From what my wife explains, triglycerides were more than likely the reason in whole or at least a large part of what caused both. Dr. Rahall, actually warned me that one of my biggest and immediate risks of my triglyceride level is the potential for pancreatitis. This was before seeing that they were as high has 3000+ in the past and thinking about it, he may not have even known I had pancreatitis in the past, as it was many years ago. Unfortunately for me, my triglyceride levels were never really addressed before, besides a quick suggestion or two. It's unfortunate what potentially could have been avoided for me, and almost scary to think how commonplace this may be. I have no complaints about the past, but still feel it is worth me commending his dedication and knowledge, and share it with others who can potentially benefit from me taking the time to write this.
