Dr. Baron is truly the best doctor I have ever been to. She really takes the time to explain and make sure that all of your concerns are taken care of. There’s no other doctor like Dr. Baron.

She was helping two patients at the same time, that made me wait too long. At the end she did not talk with me about the outcome, the assistant just handed me a letter with instructions. But I am very satisfied with the appointment.

Dr. Riabianca Garcia, MD is such a sweetheart. She is kind, a great listener, and extremely personable. I was looking for a primary care physician who was in the area and had great communication skills. Dr. Garcia was that and more. After my labs came back, she took the time to go over my labs with me and referred me to a specialist. I would recommend Dr. Garcia to anyone looking for a long-term physician who is professional, kindhearted and hospitable.

Doctor was friendly and professional. Nurse was more of the same and very polite. I don't like complaining and generally consider myself to be more patient than the average person, but I don't think it is reasonable to wait for 1 hour and 15 minutes before being examined by a nurse, and 1 hour and a half before seeing the doctor. Luckily, I had nothing else to do that was time sensitive after this appointment. In the end, I'll almost certainly go back, because the service and care were good, and because, like all businesses, medical offices can get overwhelmed with longer than expected queues and business volume; I just hope this is not the standard way of doing things.

She was very helpful, addressed all my concerns and answered my questions thoroughly. The nurse was also very kind and helpful with questions I had. I am self pay as I just moved to nj and they let me know all the expenses before taking any tests. I really appreciated this. Great experience and would recommend them.

Overall the office was great. Easy check-in, nice location. I’d go back again for sure. The nurse was very lovely and professional. The Dr was fine. Some minor points. The bathroom for doing a urine sample is thru the waiting room and down the hall. I had to walk thru the waiting room where the other patents are while carrying my own pee. It was sort of awkward. Also Inessa was out so I had to see the male MD even tho I’d bothered to filter by gender. (I’m paranoid that male providers get around the gender screening by putting the name of the female provider on their time slots or some other scheme like this.) also the building sign says like “eye and ear infirmary” is so it was a little confusing at first going in to see a GP.

I've been a patient of hers for awhile now, and I have always had the best care from her. She really takes the time to understand what ails you so she can best recommend a treatment plan. I was terrified of getting an IUD, but she took the time to thoroughly explain everything so that I was comfortable with it. Highly highly recommend!

Dr. Lyne Geneste, DO and the rest of the staff as well were incredibly professional and easy to work with. They were attentive to everything that I had mentioned and addressed any concerns that I may have brought up. Dr. Lyne and all of the nurses and lab technicians made it a point to make sure that I was comfortable during every part of the check-up. Highly recommended.

Family Doctors in NYC

Family doctors are primary care physicians that cater to the medical needs of every member of a family. This field of medicine does not limit its practice to specific organs or diseases but aims to provide overall care to all patients, regardless of their gender or age. According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, “family physicians are distributed more proportionally to the U.S. population than any other physician specialty.” Family physicians specialize in managing common complaints and diagnosing underlying diseases in patients. Being primary care providers, family doctors have a constant, long-term relationship with their patients.

Family physicians are medical doctors, and they go through medical school to obtain Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees. To specialize in family medicine, doctors are required to complete a residency program. Typically, the duration of a residency in family medicine is three years. After the residency, residents are eligible to take a board-certification exam by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Areas of care

Family doctors aim at providing comprehensive care to one and all. The areas of focus include:

Choosing between family physicians and pediatricians

While both family doctors and pediatricians are qualified to treat children, certain factors may play a key role in determining which one you should pick:

  • Family doctors can treat every member of the family, saving you multiple trips to doctors’ offices. Family doctors complete their residencies in several medical fields, including pediatrics. This makes them qualified to care for patients of all gender and age.
  • Pediatricians are also primary care doctors who specialize in managing the overall well-being of children. They complete three years of a pediatric residency. As their main focus is children’s health, they can be better equipped to deal with kids. The only drawback could be that the patient would have to change their healthcare provider by the age of 18.

Other factors that could affect your decision include convenient location, finding doctors that accept your insurance and choosing a doctor based on availability.
