HoldFast Therapy and Counseling Services

I graduated from Pepperdine University back in 2012 and have gathered 13 years of experience as a therapist treating all kinds of people from different walks of life, for different concerns. I worked in a middle school, a community counseling center, and I've also worked with war veterans, to name a few. I like connecting with people and learning about who they are, helping them open up, and creating a safe space where people can grow in any way that they choose. My goal is to help you to feel like you're not alone. Usually I start out with an initial consultation during which I ask questions about you and your background so I can get to know you a bit better. This is also a time for us both to figure out if we are a good fit for each other. (I need to make sure that I have the skills to help you with your problem, and you need to figure out if I'm someone you feel you can connect with.) If we decide that we are a good fit, then we schedule a weekly time to meet up and talk. I use a variety of methodologies and approaches, but am primarily a psychodynamic therapist. I received specialized training after graduate school in this therapeutic approach. This is a traditional kind of talk therapy. We will talk about whatever you want to talk about in our sessions. I believe that whatever needs to be discussed, will be brought up without us having to force it. I have found that this kind of exploration leads clients to develop a greater understanding of themselves, and how they might move forward in life in a way that feels right and true. I am currently drawn to work with others experiencing the lingering effects of the pandemic, women reeling from what was uncovered during the Me Too movement, those affected by the polarization of the country, and people of color experiencing the tumult of the events over the past several years. I’m also pulled toward working with clients who struggle in relationships with family or with dating, as well as people who want to understand their own relationship with money and how that affects their lives and the lives of their children. Other issues of interest include the treatment of trauma, self-esteem, workplace burnout, depression, and anxiety. If this sounds like a process you'd be interested in, please reach out! I would love to hear from you. Call me at 541 632-4401 to set up an initial consultation.
