What can I say? I'm usually a cynical misanthrope who enjoys complaining, but i'm filled with positivity after visiting Dr. Kecia Gerlach because she gave me hope that there are still good doctors in our corrupt health care system. Not only was Dr. Kecia Gerlach great, but her staff was nice, friendly, efficient and fast. I was in-and-out in the waiting room in less than 10 minutes. It was kind of a surreal experience- When I normally go to the doctors, I have to deal with a overworked and rude receptionists that are dressed like they walked off a 1992 soap opera set. They obviously hate their life and take it out on you while they listen to smooth jazz or "adult alternative" in the background. Okay, so let's get back on topic- When I got to see Dr. Kecia, she was genuinely kind. She made me feel comfortable in a situation that's, frankly, extremely awkward. Let's be honest here- nobody enjoys getting a pap smear, but she was gentle unlike other gynos who roughly "shove it in." Heck, even though I hate going to the Gyno, going to her office was more enjoyable than going to work that day. Likewise, if you have a serious medical complication- go to Dr. Kerlach. She knew the best option for me and she didn't try to push unnecessary procedures or surgeries just to make an extra buck. I'm happy that I chose her as my gyno, otherwise, I could of ended up in a pretty scary situation with an unnecessary procedure. Unlike other doctors, she didn't try to rush me out of the office, and she actually took her time to talk to me. A freaking miracle- that's the first time I encountered a doctor who did that. I noticed that other doctors will force me to come back to their office (and they'll literally see me for thirty seconds sans a check-up) just so that I pay an additional copay to get any prescription medications or refills, even if it's for something mundane like allergy medication. But you can just call Dr. Kerlach directly or email her to get your prescription refilled, without an additional office visit. She's the kind of doctor that's rare to find these days, because she actually cares about your health instead of thinking of ways to make an extra buck at the expense of your well-being. And, she's witty!
